FAQs

  • Typically, founders of startups who have raised anywhere from seed to series A or B financing or leaders / executives of non-VC funded businesses with at least $1M in revenue and are focused on growth.

I sometimes work with individuals who are not founders if they 1) are in a leadership or managerial position and/or 2) are currently managing or have recently begun to manage a team.

If you’re interested but not sure if you fit the criteria, send me an email anyway. If I’m not the right coach for you, I know many great coaches that I can recommend.

  • I’m a former Founder / CEO that built and sold a company, which means I have actual operating experience. Because of that, I understand the specific challenges you face and I know what it takes to turn these challenges into opportunities: opportunities to improve your operations, your leadership, and to bring the best out in others.

  • Many coaches focus on helping you solve your immediate problems. But often, that only results in short-term benefits and doesn’t help you build a foundation for high-performance over the long-term.

My focus is on helping you become a more effective and resilient leader AND person, so that you can better navigate the inherent complexity and uncertainty of building a business in both the short- and long-term.

This means I focus on your growth and learning. I do this in two ways:

    1) The Practical: I work with you to determine what skills, tools, and frameworks will enable you to overcome challenges and make progress towards your goals. This can be anything related to time management, prioritization, process improvements, etc.

    2) The Purposeful: I work with you to build awareness of your identity, belief systems, and mindsets. Why? Because these influence how we make meaning of our challenges. And when we learn how to make new, positive meaning of our challenges, we create a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment in our work AND our lives.

  • Coaching is right for you if you’re feeling stressed, stuck, or concerned about the various challenges you’re facing as a leader of your company. And, you’re willing to to do the following:

    1) To commit to and invest in a process of growth and improvement;

    2) To be honest and self-reflective about your struggles and motivations; and

    3) To be challenged and to take action, even when it’s outside your comfort zone.

  • At the business level, many of my clients are facing challenges like managing a growing team, creating more alignment, fundraising, building company culture, revenue / user growth, developing better processes, etc.

At a personal level, many of my clients are facing the stress and anxiety of getting to the next milestone…while figuring out how to enjoy the journey in an energizing and fulfilling way.

My role as a coach is to help you develop skills, qualities, and mindsets that will enable you to more effectively navigate your current challenges at both a business and personal level.

This could include things like managing stress / energy, better prioritization / time management, improving the performance of others, making more value-driven decisions, and developing more self-trust.

  • In a coaching engagement, we co-create a coaching plan with developmental goals that will guide the structure of our engagement. Developmental goals help us meet our challenges with more effectiveness and fulfillment. Developmental goals are also observable, which means that we can easily discuss progress towards those goals.

Some examples of outcomes that clients have experienced are:

    • Having more consistent self-care practices that reduce stress and anxiety

    • Feeling more energized and having greater clarity of values and purpose

    • Being able to more effectively prioritize and take relevant actions towards priorities

    • Feeling a greater sense of self-acceptance and confidence

    • Feeling more connected to others

  • Engagement Length: A coaching engagement is typically a minimum of 6 months but can extend beyond that. 6 months is typically the minimum because personal / professional development takes time and is not a process that can be shortcut or rushed.

Meeting Length: Each coaching meeting is typically 60 minutes. I may offer practices, experiments, or reflection questions for you to do in between sessions.

Frequency: I typically meet with clients 1x per week for the first 4 to 6 weeks of an engagement. After that, I meet with clients 1x every two weeks. However, I offer support to clients in between sessions over email on an as-needed basis.

  • For information on my prices, set up an exploratory call to speak with me.

For qualified individuals, I offer 3 free coaching sessions so that you can experience coaching before committing to an engagement.

I also offer a 100% guarantee, so if at any time during the coaching engagement you feel that coaching is not working for you, I will refund you the unused portion of the engagement.
